Striking The Right Gender Balance and Championing Female Team Members

This week sees the annual celebration of International Women’s Day on Wednesday 8th March. Established in the early 1900’s, the day provides a focal point in the women’s rights movement and an opportunity to discuss and bring attention to a range of related issues including gender equality, reproductive rights and violence and abuse against women.

As a company, we believe that it is vital to strike the right gender balance in our own workforce, as it is across all businesses. Our ethos is to take raw talent and then nurture, support and empower our employees to reach their full potential. In the past year, nearly two-thirds of the women on our team have undertaken additional, specialist education and management courses to upskill or enhance their roles and to support their individual progression goals. We believe this is vital for the overall success of our business as well as team cooperation and camaraderie.

Almost a third of our workforce is female with just under a quarter of those women working within our software developer team, with the average tenure being four years on the development team . Over the past 12 months we have recruited several women to senior operational and management roles including Hannah Fuller as Head of Strategic Relationships. Hannah is the co-founder of the British Parking Association’s Women in Parking Group, which promotes the fundamental value and importance of women in the traditionally male-dominated parking industry, Hannah is a vocal advocate for gender equality.

On this International Women’s Day we want to celebrate all our female team members, and women working at all levels within the parking and technology sectors.
