When drivers arrive at your car park, they want to pay quickly and get on with their day. The easiest app for them is one they already have. So a useful question for any operator is how many of my drivers already use MiPermit nearby?
The 10km test
We took every MiPermit location in the UK and drew a 10km circle around each one. That’s a fair estimate of everyday travel: commuting, shopping, visiting family, a trip to the coast. If your car park sits inside one of those circles, local drivers are likely to have parked with MiPermit before.
The circles cover:
- 26% of England, about 1 in 4 districts across its land area
- 17% of Wales
- 15.5% of the UK overall
Those percentages are of land, not people. MiPermit’s locations cluster in towns and cities, so the share of drivers living within 10km is likely to be higher than the land figure suggests. We haven’t measured that yet, so we don’t quote a number for it.

What it means at the pay point
A driver who already has the app doesn’t need to download anything, create an account or enter card details in a busy car park. They open MiPermit, enter your location code and pay. That’s a faster stay for them and fewer abandoned payments and queries for you.
For drivers who are new to MiPermit, the app works straight away at your sites and at more than 1,900 other locations across the UK. The account they set up in your car park keeps working when they park in the next town.

A network that grows with you
Every operator that joins adds more places drivers can use the same app. The network already spans 88 local authorities, along with private operators, town and parish councils and parking partnerships. Your sites would sit alongside them on the MiPermit map.

How close is your nearest MiPermit location?
On a savings review, we’ll show your car parks on the MiPermit network map and count how many MiPermit locations are within 10km of each one. It takes 15 minutes, and you’ll also see what lower fees could mean for your drivers and your income.
