Unity5 User Group 2025: Energy, innovation and a glimpse into the future

Unity5’s User Group 2025 at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham, allowed our customers to enjoy two days packed full of information and innovation.

Day 1: Wednesday 26th February
The energy was high and we had a fantastic time connecting up with our customers before diving into a day packed with product insights. It was great to see more people from our product team interacting with customers – a testament to the growing importance and focus we’re placing on customer-led innovation.

CEO Dave Herbert and CCO Mark Wilson took to the stage to provide a comprehensive update. This transparency was invaluable, providing a clear understanding of how we’re evolving and where we’re headed. We shared our Roadmap with very positive feedback from delegates.

Next up was Unity5’s Celina Herbert, showcasing the work we’ve done on to ensure that the customer is at the heart of what we do and our new focused client service model. James Hampton followed with a slew of new features designed to streamline workflows and boost efficiency. Our latest product updates are packed full of tangible improvements that will make a real difference in the daily operations for our customers, making things quicker and easier. The feedback from the room was fantastic, as James went on to demonstrate the practical applications of these updates. The work dedicated to building tools that truly empower our customers was very well received.

A Deep Dive in to Unity5 products

The main event for Day 1, was a round table deep dive into product features. It didn’t disappoint as this was the time for customers to see, interact and influence how our products are developed and delivered.

But perhaps the most exciting thread running through the entire day was our focus on AI. We’re seeing AI integrated across both our back-office operations and our motorist-facing products. This isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a fundamental shift in how we’re approaching problem-solving and innovation. It’s about leveraging the power of AI to create smarter, more intuitive experiences for everyone.

The audience engagement highlighted the knowledge within our customer base and our willingness to deliver better services for the market and for the customer. The questions were insightful, sparking lively discussions and demonstrating a genuine passion for the work we’re doing.

Key Takeaways from Day 1

  • Learning: we learnt a lot from customers on how you use our systems.
  • Engagement and knowledge: the questions and discussions showcased the room’s knowledge and engagement.
  • Growth and Focus: the number of product people in the room highlights the company’s commitment to product development.
  • Efficiency is Key: the new features showcased by Jimmy are a testament to the focus on making our tools more efficient.

  • It’s an exciting time to be a part of this business – as staff and customer. We’re building innovative products, tackling complex challenges, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

After a long but productive day, it was time for some well-deserved fun. We rounded off the workshop with a fantastic dinner, a few drinks and a spirited bowling competition. The highlight for some delegates was winning those coveted cuddly toys! It was the perfect way to unwind and celebrate a successful user group.

Day 2: Thursday 27th February

Day 2 saw Unity5 wrap up another productive and fun day at our client user group. It was a fantastic blend of insightful learning, collaborative problem-solving, and a healthy dose of friendly competition.

We kicked things off with a recap, setting the stage for the in-depth discussions to follow. Flo, our resident optimisation guru, then walked us through some compelling case studies. It was great to see real-world examples of how data-driven strategies can lead to tangible results. The energy in the room was vibrant, despite a few sore heads from the night before. Breakout sessions allowed customers to interact and for our teams to address frequently raised cases and discuss proactive solutions.
