Zatpark has Joined the Folding@Home program to use our spare computing resources to help the science community map out how this virus spreads and develops to better understand how to combat it.
Folding@Home is a distributed computing project bringing together volunteers to run simulations of protein dynamics on their personal computers. Folding@Home is currently prioritising COVID‑19 research programmes and insights from this data are helping scientists to better understand biology and providing new opportunities for developing therapeutics.
The way this is done is by downloading the Folding@Home app on any PC, Mac or Linux machine and the application will run in the background using system resources that you are not using to help map out the virus. This can be done when you’re using your machine or when you’re not but every little helps in this global fight.
As part of our commitment to contribute to Folding@home, we have set up a team that anyone can join or you can see how may “folds” we have been able to do by clicking HERE.
